AKM was a modernized version of Ak47 . The main difference was that Ak47 had a milled receiver , but AKM had a stamped reciever . Maybe a new feature added was also of a wooden fixed foregrip ,but that wasn't standard ,so can't accept or deny this info . The underfolding AK metal brace was also probably seen first in the AKM .
