Never seen one make money. As far as I know Sergio Perez and Micheal Schumacher were both pay drivers ( I myself doubt this statement ) .If a pay driver is as good as the money he is paying to race than he can make money in the later part of his career . Some of pay drivers really have the guts . Guanyu Zhou ,if it is true that 30 million pounds are coming from China ,will be a pay driver and as far as we know he has got the guts ,and we hope he will make one hell of a driver . Same goes for Lance Stroll ,we know that he is a pay driver ,but he is not that bad ,he has got the guts ,we should all remember he was once a formula 3 champ but he is not making money probably . If Aston Martin ever succeeds in making a good car ,I believe we will see both Seb and stroll regularly on the podium .I hope this happens one day . The new finance model of F1 will soon make the sport profitable for all teams and thus pay drivers ,if there will be any ,will make profit too . But this model would limit the chance of pay drivers ,and F1 would no longer be billionaire boys club .
