    Why do Russian machine guns have fixed belt links? Which one is better, disintegrating or fixed links?

     

    None is better ,I think .Feed reliability is not affected by disintegrating links or non disintegrating links .PKM works totally fine with fixed links so does m249 with disintegrating links .This is just an issue of different firearm operation doctrines in different countries .
